Halnn PCBN inserts: the hidden champion in the field of hard turning, you must know it

Hard turning refers to the process of turning hardened steel as final processing or finishing. Hardened steel usually refers to work piece materials that have a martensitic structure after quenching, high hardness, high strength, and almost no plasticity.

Common parts for hard turning include gears, gear shafts, transmission shafts, wind turbine bearings, slewing support bearings, hub bearings, ball screws, synch ronizers, ball cage universal joints, three-pin shafts, cross shafts, hardened molds, etc. Common working conditions include continuous cutting, slightly interrupted cutting and strongly interrupted cutting.

For hard turning of hardened steel, Halnn has launched five materials: BN-H05, BN-H10, BN-H21, BN-H200 and BN-S20. BN-H05 material is used for continuous cutting conditions, BN-H10 material is used for slightly interrupted cutting conditions, BN-H21 material is used for strongly interrupted cutting conditions, BN-H200 is specially used in the field of hard turning of wind power bearings, BN- S20 is used for heavy-duty cutting and large margin cutting conditions due to thermal deformation.

For hard turning processes, Halnn Superhard provides fourinsert structures, namely standard CBN inserts, coated CBN inserts, extended edge CBN inserts and fully veneered CBN inserts.

Standard CBN inserts are mainly composite CBN inserts with a cutting edge length of 2.2mm.

Coated CBN inserts add a wear-resistant layer to standard CBN inserts, thereby extending tool life and improving production efficiency.

The extended edge CBN insert has a longer cutting edge than the standard CBN insert, reaching 4mm, which is more suitable for heavy-duty cutting with large depth of cut.

The fully-faced CBN insert is a brand-newinsert structure specially developed by Halnn Superhard for the wind power field. The number of multiple cutting edges reduces production costs and can better control the dimensional accuracy of large-diameter wind power bearings after thermal deformation.

There are twelve CBN insert models commonly used in hard turning processes, namely: CNGA, DNGA, VNGA, TNGA, WNGA, CCGW, DCGW, VCGW, VBGW, TCGW, RNGN, RBGN. Coating services are available for all the above models.

At the same time, for hardened steel parts with uneven hardness that need to be processed at the same time, as well as thin-walled parts, Halnn Super Hard can provide CBN inserts with chip breakers, which can not only effectively suppress the generation of vibration and chatter marks, but also effectively break chips, providing Processing provides practical and effective solutions.

Choose Halnn superhard to make every cutting efficient and precise.
