We know that no matter what the material and specifications of the roll is, there will always be working face fatigue, deformation, fracturing ,even drop blocks, edge breakage and other serious defects.  

With the  progress of iron and steel rolling technology, the demand for wear resistance of rolls is higher and higher, especially the repairment of used high-speed steel rolls has been a difficult problem. Firstly, we can directly find that Halnn’s CBN tools has a very obvious effect in machining roll surface compared with ordinary tungsten carbide inserts, which greatly improves the quality of the roll surface.

We should notice that if the roll surface is in good condition before repairing ,we should choose CBN tool BN-S300 series; if there are cracks, blocks and other defects on the surface, we should choose CBN insert BN-S20 series ; and for particularly bad cases, we can choose CBN inserts BN-K1 series .By the way, Before selecting the tool grade, it is much better to provide us the roll photos before and after machining or describe the working conditions of the roll surface in detail .

In addition, there is a case of Halnn CBN tool BN-K1 series repairing rebar rolls , of which hardness up to HRC67. the efficiency of Halnn’s product is 5 times that of a well-known alloy tool, and the durability is 4 times.

Finally, there is a case of Halnn CBN tool BN-S300 series repairing pass roller, which is made of high-speed steel and it’s hardness up to HRC64. Halnn bn-s300 inserts’ efficiency is 50% higher than that of a well-known brand ceramic tools, and the durability is 4 times higher.
